Family Time and the Lunar Eclipse

On Sunday Payton and I made a last minute decision to go out to grandma and papa's house. We ended up seeing Uncle Josh (my brother), Great Aunt Becky, Cousin Shana and her two kids Savannah and Ashton. As soon as Payton saw Savannah she was all smiles and ran up and gave her a big hug! Sadly I missed that photo op.

Payton loved the swing set that Papa built for her and her favorite is the slide which she loves having everyone go down with her! She even made her Uncle Josh go down the slide too! Uncle Josh also helped her climb back up the slide :). Then she had him swing her and find her acorns. My child loves picking up acorns. We have lots all over in the car currently.

By the time we left Payton was super tired. She spent the time out there running around, chasing Savannah, playing on the slide, and eating dinner. The one thing that she missed out on is riding in the golf cart. Poor thing needed charged up so hopefully next time out there she will be able to go for a ride :).  She ended up falling asleep a few minutes before we got home so she got a good 15 min power nap in which kept her up and we got to look at the blood moon, super moon, lunar eclipse.

It was a little after 9pm, where we live that the clouds were clearing up a little bit that we got to see the moon. I asked Payton if she wanted to see the moon and of course she did so we went outside and looked at the moon. After a few seconds Payton was done looking at the moon and didn't want to continue watching mom take some pics of the moon. So I brought her back in and settled her down with one of her favorite shows Little Einsteins. Periodically, I went and checked out the moon and tried to grab some good shots in between the clouds. Payton was done after the first look at the moon. It would have been better if it had not been so cloudy but it was still amazing to see! Until our next adventure...

End of Summer

The last few days have been spent enjoying the unusual weather for it being the first week of fall around here. Already we can see the leaves changing and falling off the trees in our yard. Fall is my favorite season. I love everything about fall except that what comes after fall is winter.

We found a new park that Payton loves and we go there a few times a week. The park is perfect for her age. She loves the slides, the swings, and the crazy spinning ball. Oh and let's not forget the acorns that are dropped from the tree! We usually have to take a least one of them back with us lol.

Payton is fearless. At the park, she learned that she could climb up the ladder next to the rock climbing wall in order to get to the platform by the sliders. Mommy is all about letting her have her independence but every time she does this inside I cringe. She doesn't quite have the height to reach the ladder to the platform so Mommy has to climb up the ladder (because I lack height) and help her. Most of the time she does a good job and all I have is a hand under her butt for the just in case she slips moment. I love how something so simple like climbing up a ladder at the park makes her so happy. She smiles every single time. Next time though mom is gonna to pack some tennis shoes and not flip flops.

We are trying to enjoy every second of the good weather that we have left. Next couple of weeks we are going to hit up the zoo also. Hopefully Payton will love it like she did last year :).

For the Love of Toys!

How old is your daughter?
2.
Oh the terrible two's...

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I hear this. Every time I hear it I laugh. Yes the two's can be terrible and some days I want to pull out every last piece of my hair. Then there are days like today that wipe all that away. What amazes me most is how quickly she picks up new words, sentences, and most importantly how much energy she has lol.

I have heard the comparison that kids are like sponges especially little ones and this is true. I see it everyday with Payton. One of the things I love is how she plays with her toys. She talks to them, plays with them, and what I love best....lines them up.

Just recently she has started lining up things. Today she lined up all her princesses. Then she lined up all of Minnie's bows and shoes. She also loves little miniature figures. We have TONS from Doc McStuffins, My Little Pony, to her new favorite Palace Pets. My daughter gives all her toys equal love and attention!
All in all I would have to say so far the two's aren't so terrible.
